The Light at the “End of the Tunnel” is YOU!

Friday, April 9th, 2010 by Debra Oakland

The light at the end of the tunnel is YOU.  Are you waiting for a person, place or thing outside of yourself to be that light?  At the end of the day, only you can fully illuminate your life.

Imagine a room is in total darkness.  You can’t move the darkness out, carry it out or shout it out.  You can open a window to let the light pour in.  Then, voila, the darkness disappears.  Many things in life cultivate in darkness.  Baby’s grow in the mothers womb, seeds are planted in the darkness of the soil. At night, you can see the stars. We sleep in the darkness behind our eyes, taking  journeys throughout the universe.  We emerge into the light from all these different states. The light brings clarity, a sense of awareness and growth.  We feel alive and refreshed. Why? Because you are the light.  It is the stuff  you are made of.  Our true nature is divine beings of love and light.

Think of the garden of your consciousness.  Love, peace, courage, joy, abundance, happiness, health, creativity, success and an abundance of all good things exist. On the other side is fear, judgment, worry, doubt, criticism, unhappiness, limitation, sickness and disappointment.  Which part of the garden of your consciousness are you going to nurture with your attention? How much light are you going to shine in your own life? The light at the “End of the Tunnel” is YOU!

Courage – Got Some?

Friday, April 10th, 2009 by Debra Oakland

It is time to take hold of some courage.  Got it?  Okay, now go to the mirror and look into your eyes.  Say these words as you look at your reflection “It is time to call to action the perfect love within you.”  Say this three times.  Now, put your hand on your heart and say three times “It is time to call to action the perfect love in me.”  You can mix it up and say “It is time for the perfect love in me to move into action.”  You get the idea.  Sound corny?  Then maybe it does not resonate with you at this time, but if it does, you will find great value in this daily practice.

Perfect love is not compromised, it is divine.  Human love is joyful/ happy one moment, then fearful, sad, disappointing, jealous, angry, etc…the next moment.  I am not talking about calling on the love that exists in duality, which is human love.  I am talking about divine love.  I am talking about what has been missing in you for a long long time.  It takes a great deal of courage to look your fears in the face and decide what to do about each one of them. When you decide you have absolutely no VALUE in holding on to those fears, that they do not serve you in any way, then you can begin to remove them from your consciousness. By calling in the love that knows no opposites, you are talking to your power source and giving conscious direction.

You always get to choose.  You always have. We have become a fear based society through education, politics and religious dogma, forgetting our true nature is love.  Only love.  We live in a world where people criticize, condemn, judge, blame and gossip about everything under the sun.  Look where we are.  Not a pretty picture is it, but it can be.  It will be for some.  Your choice.  Which side of the fence will you be on?  Do you have the courage to choose peace for yourself and your world?  I hope so, for your sake and the sake of this planet.  You are needed.  I hope you answer the call back to love.

Ted Talks – Jill Taylor

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008 by Debra Oakland

Neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor had an opportunity few brain scientists would wish for: One morning, she realized she was having a massive stroke. As it happened — as she felt her brain functions slip away one by one, speech, movement, understanding — she studied and remembered every moment. This is a powerful story about how our brains define us and connect us to the world and to one another.

Jill describes the left and right hemispheres of the brain, what their functions are, how they affect us on a global scale, who we are in relation to having 2 cognitive minds with the power to choose the life we want to live or to be separate. Which do you choose? I have made my decision and will do everything in my scope of influence to spread the word.

A New Earth – Eckhart Tolle

Monday, March 31st, 2008 by Debra Oakland

In A New Earth, Tolle expands powerful ideas to show how transcending our ego-based state of consciousness is not only essential to personal happiness, but also the key to ending conflict and suffering throughout the world. Tolle describes how our attachment to the ego creates the dysfunction that leads to anger, jealousy, and unhappiness, and shows readers how to awaken to a new state of consciousness and follow the path to a truly fulfilling existence.
